Wyatt’s Story
By: Ashleah, Parent of Wyatt, a 1 year old with a PPP3CA genetic change
“Reach out, and always ask questions!”
What is your family like?
A very happy caring family. We are a very very close family, and share everything.
What do you do for fun?
I love to go swimming, camping, rafting, anything when the weather is nice.
Tell us about the biggest hardship you face.
Not knowing all the answers when it comes to my son.
What motivates you to participate in research? How has participating in research been helpful for you?
I need more answers on my son’s case.
How do you feel you are helping Simons Searchlight learn more about rare genetic changes?
My son is the only one in Idaho with the PPP3CA gene mutation.
What is one question you wish researchers could answer about this genetic change?
(What are the) long term effects?
What have you learned about your or your child’s genetic condition from other families?
Nothing. No one knows anything about this mutation.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone recently diagnosed with this genetic change, what would it be?
Reach out, and always ask questions!
